Running after your dreams is one of the most fulfilling experiences of our lives, and this does come with a lot of challenges. A big amount of dreamers come face to face with many obstacles that can cause them to feel doubtful, frustrated, or worse… tempted to give up for once and for all. If you catch yourself in this situation, here are some simple yet powerful tips to relit the fire inside of you and get back on track towards your dream.

TIP 1 : WHY did you dream?

No one dreams without a reason. We all have a motive behind our goals and visions. Think about that motive, that ‘WHY’ that got you going at the beginning. Reflect on what drove you to start.

My tip is to write down these reasons, these WHYs. it would be better to keep them somewhere that you’ll be able to see them frequently : in your wallet, backpack… Stick them on your mirror or closet… put them on your nightstand, write them in your notes on your phone and make that your background. Be reminded everyday. Let that be your support to lean on when you feel like giving up.

TIP 2 : “Failure” = Learning Tool

Every setback is an opportunity to learn. Instead of viewing failure as an endpoint, try to see it as a stepping stone toward growth. Analyze what went wrong without being too hard on yourself and use that knowledge to adjust your approach. Remember, many successful individuals faced numerous failures before finding success.

Just like babies, we learn more from failure than success. I have changed my view on failure. When I don’t succeed doing something, I simply revise why it happened and what did I learn from it. It is the best way to deal with it. Yes it is annoying, yes it is disappointing, but it is definitely not an indicator of the end of your journey towards your dream.

TIP 3 : Visualize Your Dream Life

One of the simplest yet most affective methods that helped me stay on track when it comes to my dreams is : Visualization. This method is practiced most right after you put your head on the pillow at night. But of course it can be done any time of the day.

Imagine the state where you are the most successful, whatever that means to you. In terms of status, career, lifestyle, social group, wealth… Channel the feelings that this visualization will make you feel. It is a part of manifestation which I have talked about in this article.

TIP 4 : Take on different paths

There is the such thing as “One Best Way” to get things done. we can both have the same exact dream, but still achieve it in two completely different ways. It took me a while to realize that I can try many various approaches to get to where I want to be. I do not need to follow the same exact steps and journey of someone who already got where I also want to be.

My tip is to keep an open mind, stay creative and think outside of the box. Follow paths that fit you, your strengths and skills… Adapt you path based on yourself. If one way didn’t work, try another and so on.

TIP 5 : Get inspired!

Showing up for your dreams everyday at 100% is not possible, simply because it sounds perfect, and there is no such thing as perfect. So as long as you are showing up regularly at 80, 60, 50, or even 1% that is good enough.

Bottom line is that if you want to truly get where you want and live your dream, nothing and no one will stop you. The only person who will, is you. You are your biggest enemy, yet you are your biggest superhero, and remember to grow at your own rhythm.
