In a fast paced world we can get caught up in a lot of its mess. Which can result in discomfort, agitation and anxiety, and this mess can end up draining our mental energy. We get so caught up in the world’s shenanigans that we don’t realize that we are giving away our inner peace, something that is vital for our stability and health. So here are some practical tips to apply in your day to day life:

Tip 1 : Avoid watching news in the morning

Many people have the habit of checking the news in the morning, whether by reading newspapers, turning on the radio or TV, or visiting a daily news app or page. Knowing that most of the headlines are negative news that’s an enough reason to avoid them in the morning, because it might lead to worsening the mood, shake up our inner peace and subconsciously prepare us for a bad day.

Instead, play some music that you like, get some sunlight and meditate.

Tip 2 : Start Therapy

Starting therapy can be crucial for achieving inner peace, and some people need it more than others. It could help stabilize your thoughts, bring you emotional well being and better understand yourself and eliminate any inner conflict.

There are few reasons that people overlook therapy. It could be because it’s expensive (there are many affordable options) or because they think it’s only for weak people (which is completely wrong)…

Having a well experienced therapist, who will understand you, and allow you to express yourself freely, and not only that, will give your practical solution to your concern can definitely help you find inner peace.

Tip 3 : Resolve any problem you are facing

When a problem emerges in your personal or professional lives, we tend to feel bothered, annoyed or even stressed. This response might make us feel helpless. We end up not taking actions to resolve the problem, which makes one problem turn into two and so on. And this without a doubt weighs on our inner peace.

So to avoid all of this, here are some tips to better solve problems and get rid of their badness :

  • Unveil the reason/source of the problem
  • Look at the bright side, anything happens for a reason, and there is something to learn from everything
  • Divide the problem into small hiccups (this will make resolving the problem much easier)
  • Take action (you can overcome anything in life)

Tip 4 : Declutter

Around the 1960s – 1970s the “Minimalist Lifestyle” emerged, but got more and more popular in recent years.

The main point of this movement is to basically have less, whether it’s physical belongings (clothes, decorations, kitchen appliances…) or digital (ending pointless subscriptions, applications…). It has been proven by many minimalist gurus and influencers that this movement does help improve inner peace, because it gives mental clarity, saves energy, time and money.

Having a space that is decluttered helps reduce stress.

Less clutter = Less stress

Tip 5 : Surround yourself with positive humans

Nothing better than being in an inner peace state while surrounded by people that make you reach and stay in that state. People that practice gratitude, like to have a fun time together and bring good energy.

It might take some time to find them, especially if you are an introvert like me, but you have to push yourself and go to social gatherings. You can find on the platform Meet Up events that are happening in your city to attend and meet people with the same interests as yours. You will definitely get to know at least one person that will make your social circle better which will help you find your inner peace.

Tip 6 : Meditation and breathwork

I have briefly talked about meditation and its benefits . It’s no secret to nobody that meditation brings inner peace while doing it at that moment, and its effect stays way longer when we integrate it as a habit in our daily routine.

Breathwork is strongly related to meditation. You can’t practice one without the other. Breathwork contains a lot of types and techniques, to each its own benefits, but they all have the same goal which is to reduce stress and enforce inner peace.

This practice is recommended by medical doctors and psychologists.

I say “one meditation a day keeps the doctor away”

Stress can cause a lot of illnesses, mental or physical, so these tips are the best to reduce it and get in touch with inner peace. Applying one tip out of all of these will get you one step closer to achieve inner peace. And remember to grow at your own rhythm.

Great tips. For me one of the biggest challenges is disconnecting from the problems (at work for example) so I can enjoy and move on with other things. I mean a problem must be solved but should not stop you from living your life.
