As 2024 nears its end, it is about time to start that ritual: REFLECTION. Looking back on the past 360+days, a tapestry of highs and lows. For me, 2024 has brought a lot of significant personal growth, in all of the aspects of my life. One thing that helped me keep track of all of them is something I talked about in this post “All life’s 8 aspects to improve”. Now without any further ado, let’s being our reflection on 2024!
Reading Time : 4 min
TIP 1 : Review Your Goals
To review your goals from 2024, start by evaluating the specific goals you made at the beginning of the year. Go through them one by one. Categorize them in two categories. The first for the goals your achieved, the second for the ones you didn’t. Then ask yourself “why”. Was that due to external obstacles? Did you switch your priorities? Or did you lose motivation?
In addition, think about the skills you improved at and the lessons you were taught or learned all this year long. Write down your own feedback and reviews on a notebook or a journal. Use this reflection to uncover any proper adjustments to your goals for 2025. Make sure they align with your current passion and vision.
TIP 2 : Evaluate Your Relationships
Evaluating your social relationships requires a transparent self-reflection and taking into account different key aspects. First, examin the quality of your relationships: Are they reciprocal, with double-sided support and thoughtfulness? Do you genuinely feel valued and loved, and do you reflect those feelings? think about the level of emotional intimacy and trust; Are you comfortable being yourself and sharing your thoughts and feelings freely without feeling judged? Assess the nature of give-and-take; are you regularly giving more than receiving, or the opposite?
Finally, reflect on how your relationships affect your well-being. Do they have a positive impact on your mental health and self-esteem, or do they cause stress and negativity? answering these questions can unveil valuable insight like the strengths and weaknesses of your social relationships.
TIP 3 : Analyze your habits
To reflect on 2024 in terms of your habits, begin by identifying main aspect of your life – work, health, finance, personal growth, etc. For each aspect, list your typical daily, weekly, monthly and yearly habits. Did these habits contribute to achieving your goals this year? Did they impact positively your well-being? If not consider changing the habits into good ones, we do not want to make the same mistakes in 2025.
Reflect on points of your 2024 where you succeeded or failed (I don’t believe in failure, I like to call them “Learning Moments”) what habits triggered progress, and what obstacles hindered it? Scanning this data will highlight both your good habits and others needing improvement, setting you up to set bigger goals for 2025. Remember to not be hard on yourself throughout this process; reflection should be a instrument for growth, not self-criticism.
TIP 4 : Get Feedback
First, you got to know that you can not ask everyone or anyone in your life to give you feed-back. Start by selecting people that you know will give you constructive critiques, people who their opinion matter to you and whom you trust. Whether it your friends, family, coworkers… they might surprise you with things that you didn’t notice about yourself which will, of course, allow you open up your mind and be more conscious.
Second, here are some questions to ask if you are not sure what to : “What are some of my strengths that you’ve noticed this year?”/”What were some of my most positive contributions this year?”/”What habits do I do that you think aren’t good?”…
But remember that you are free to take away what you find useful to you in what they said. At the same time apply the feedback that will aid you to get to where you want to be and get rid of those who you think will not serve you in any way shape or form.
TIP 5 : Practice Gratitude
Cultivating gratitude should be throughout the whole year not only at the end. But also recalling what we are grateful for during the holiday while being surrounded by our loved ones has its own magic. Even if its small things like (That one person who made your day on May 13th, the delicious meal you had on Thanks Giving, or That birthday letter you received from a loved one…). Moreover recall most of these things, write them down, relive them again in your mind, feel them happening again. It will help you set a positive attitude for next year and raise your vibration which is something I talked about in one of the previous blogs about manifestation.
I hope that you will find these tips helpful and apply them in what’s left of 2024. and remember to grow at your own rhythm.
