Today the world has been moving in a fast pace, making the idea of simplifying life a bit more complicated, still, it’s a journey that can lead to better clarity, peace of mind, and satisfaction. simplification is a way to make you focus on what truly matters to you since we are all surrounded by a bunch of useless information and inputs. Allow me to present to you 5 practical tips for a greater life that matters.

Tip 1 : Clear Your Space

Let’s start with the step where we declutter the space we spend most of our time in : our home. Begin with a small area, like the wardrobe or a washroom. Take out items that serve you no purpose, items you don’t need, this step I personally do it every 2 weeks, I like to keep my space minimal and clear. By making a cleaner, minimal environment, you also create a relaxed and simple space that can emphasize mental clarity and a feeling of well-being.

Tip 2 : Prioritize Your Commitments

Overcommitment does nothing but complicate our lives and makes us busier more than we have to. Make sure to revise what truly matters (priorities) to you, like things that align with your values and principles, write them down on a paper and rank them from the most important to the least, giving necessary effort to each matter. Remember that it’s okay to say no, and only say yes commitments that bring happiness and progress. By finessing your schedule, you can make more time for what truly matters to you.

Tip 3 : Practice Mindfulness

Thinking about the future or dwelling over the past makes our minds perplexed and that drives us away from our goal which is simplifying our life. The solution is to practice mindfulness. It is actually simple to implement that in our routine, and it’s done by performing yoga, meditation or by simply practicing breathwork. Nothing feels better than clearing the mind in a world full of unnecessary and irrelevant information.

Tip 4 : Get Into Digital Minimalism

One thing that I personally can not get my head around is the amount of notifications I see on people’s phones, and 90% of those notifications are not even looked at. Still, they make the user feel overwhelmed and disturbed. I, for example, am only allowing the important apps to send me notifications, and it just feels good not seeing my lock screen flooded with them. Think about practicing digital detox which is term that was first introduced in 2012 which can be manifested by unsubscribe from unwanted emails, restrict social media usage, and set a limit for screen time. By holding back on these kind of distractions, you’ll easily dedicate more time to meaningful interests and hobbies.

Tip 5 : Simplify Finances

One of the top things that cause stress is managing finances, which is understandable but it doesn’t mean that we got to live with it. In order to limit this unwanted stress start by creating a simple weekly/monthly budget that contains your income and expenses, set an amount to save in your savings account, and limit unnecessary expenses, live below our means, it might be hard for some but it is absolutely worth it in the long run. By ruling your financial status, you’ll eliminate the stress and replace with peace of mind and more free time to focus on creating better experiences in your life.

By stepping into these practices towards simplification, you’ll be able to make a life loaded with more happiness, peace, and clarity. Simplifying life is an non-ending journey, because it is not a destination. Enjoy the trajectory and all changes that lead to a more simple, less complex life. And remember to grow at your own rhythm.

Great tips! I believe if we hyper focus on only one aspect of our life, all the rest become a mess. So it’s very important to keep it simple and organized so we can manage our priorities well, and consistency as usual is key, as things get out of control very easily (just like watching the dishes accumulate in the sink 😅)
